The sooner you speak to Stuart the better, don't leave it until you receive the Divorce Petition or a letter from your Partner's lawyers.
What we will do is meet you and listen to you carefully, it is most effective if you set out the following in writing:
1. What has happened and how you have reached this situation.
2. Even if it painful to explain, do not leave anything out.
3. List all the financial aspects of the marriage, what is yours, what is shared and anything else. Do not forget what you brought into the marriage as well.
4. If you have children what would you like to happen, thinking beyond the divorce.
5. If you have property and other assets please list them comprehensively.
6. If you have business interests, list them out and highlight any where there is shared interest in the business.
7. List all your pensions.
8. Explain the outcome you want to achieve both in the short and long term.
9. Please bring all the relevant documentation with you, including ID (passport and current utility bill) together with a means of payment if you would like our help.
We will then:
1. Listen to you carefully and discuss your options and agree upon how we can help.
2. Go through the process and the time frame.
3. Explain what will happen.
4. Provide you with a price to reach the next key point. Divorce is one phase, sorting out finances takes three phases.
5. We will agree a fixed fee with you for each stage of the process.
6. Stuart and his team will get to work.
